Calling all Wisconsin K-12 art teachers!The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel wants to see your students' artwork created this school year for a spring 2025 showcase. Last school year, the Journal Sentinel received about 400 submissions from students across the state. We published examples of sculptures, paintings, illustrations, photography and more. As schools nationwide face a teacher shortage, Wisconsin's issue comes down to retention. Nearly 45% of Wisconsin public school teachers leave public education within seven years, according to a February report from the state Department of Public Instruction. For special education teachers, that rate jumps to 54%.
