The Cleveland Kennel has over 100 dogs looking to find a home this holiday season and will be lowering adoption prices this weekend. Adoption fees will be just $21 on Saturday and Sunday. The shelter has various dogs, including young puppies and laid-back seniors. City Dogs is currently extremely full and has limited capacity. The shelter is located at 9203 Detroit Avenue. The Cleveland APL is showcasing a 2-year-old pitbull and shar-pei mix this weekend named Raven. In April, a man took Raven in from an abusive household, but only after a few days in his care she went into labor, the APL said. Not knowing what to do, he brought Raven and her babies into the APL, and she was able to go into a foster home with her puppies. "Despite everything she had been though in such a short period of time, Raven proved to be a sweet and gentle love-bug," the APL said.

The Cleveland Animal Protective League, along with the Ohio Animal Welfare Federation, announced that the Pet-Friendly Rental Act has been passed by the Ohio House Ways and Means Committee on June 4. The bill, Sub House Bill 277, would create tax incentives for landlords to accept pet owners with or without companion animals as tenants. Landlords could access up to $750 for up to 10 units annually based on certain criteria.

This weekend, the Cleveland APL is showcasing a 3-and-a-half-year-old dog named Cash. The APL said Cash was surrendered to the shelter after being attacked by another dog at her home. She sustained a fractured fibula on her back leg but is healing from her injury. Cash also shows signs of being deaf but isn't letting any of that get her down. "Despite all this, she is sweet and affectionate," the APL said.
