Following a SWAT standoff Tuesday morning, police found a man and an elderly woman dead inside a Painesville home. According to Lt. Toby Burgett of the Painesville Police Department, officers responded to the 180 block of Hayer Drive after being notified of a domestic violence situation. When officers arrived, they found an injured woman outside the home. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment while officers tried to make contact with a man inside, Burgett said.

WESTLAKE, Ohio — A 54-year-old man is behind bars for allegedly aiming a rifle from his balcony at other apartments late Monday night at Crocker Park. According to Westlake Police Captain Gerald Vogel, an alarmed neighbor spotted the man aiming a "huge" rifle from an upper balcony and alerted police to it. Police used drones to check out the area in case it was an active shooter situation.

CLEVELAND — Cleveland Police have arrested a man after he allegedly tried to kidnap a woman early Tuesday morning on West 25th Street and then stabbed her multiple times after she fell to the ground. According to Cleveland Division of Police Public Information Officer Freddy Diaz, it happened just after 5 a.m. on West 25th Street near Detroit Avenue. Police said a 59-year-old woman was walking down the street when a man approached her and asked her what time it was.

BARBERTON, Ohio — Firefighters and police responded to a home in Barberton on Tuesday afternoon after a tree fell onto a house. Police have confirmed that the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office was called to the scene for a fatality. It happened in the 190 block of 2nd Street. It's unclear at this time how many people were injured or if there was more than one fatality. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

What appears to be a trend nationally and now locally, four student at Case Western Reserve University have had their visas revoked. CWRU joins two other Northeast Ohio universities where that has happened recently. According to CWRU President Eric Kaler, four active students have had their F-1 visa status terminated by the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). "This revocation of status makes it illegal for any student to remain studying or working in the United States," said.
