Caleb Williams and C.J. Stroud haven't seen each other since Week 2, when the Houston Texans' second-year quarterback passed on some words of wisdom over to his Chicago Bears' counterpart. People, as per usual, took it out of context and made it a bigger deal because of the age gap. After all, Stroud was only one year into his NFL tenure and yet some assumed he was talking down to the quarterback who beat him out for the Heisman Trophy in 2022.

Entering Year 3 of the DeMeco Ryans' era, the Houston Texans are poised for a season to remember. Quarterback C.J. Stroud should feel more comfortable in Nick Caley's offense, while Pro Bowl wide receiver Nico Collins is in line for his first All-Pro campaign. But what's the biggest reason for optimism? What's the top sign to think the Texans are set for a surge this fall as a legit threat in the AFC and not just a divisional favorite?

The Houston Texans are less than 100 days away from kicking off the 2025 season in Los Angeles against the Rams at SoFi Stadium and we're counting down the days until a victory ensues on the west coast. Texans Wire will each day tell you which player has worn the number of the day leading up to kickoff and pick the player who ensured the number best during their time at NRG Stadium. As for today, let's take a look at who has won No. 76 since the inaugural season in 2002.

There are high expectations surrounding the Houston Texans heading into the 2025 season, where the defense should be the backbone of the AFC South champions once more. After a breakout third season from All-Pro cornerback Derek Stingley Jr., the Texans ensured he became the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL on a three-year, $90 million extension. Houston also added another year to Danielle Hunter's extension after his first double-digit sack season, keeping him around through the 2026 season.

Kentucky who was 13-17 in the SEC bounced Clemson in the Regional. Florida finished 13-17 and made the CWS semifinal last season. Ole Miss was the LAST TEAM IN 2022 with a 14-16 record and WON THE NATIONAL TITLE. NOT. ALL. SCHEDULES. ARE. EQUAL. DANNY.

There needs to be a cap on how many teams from any one conference can play in the post season. In every sport. Letting teams in that are sub .500 in regular season conference play is ridiculous.

Rule No. 1 of any argument I have when defending the SEC, back your stance with facts….not opinions and feelings. And if you’re in MEDIA doing this (and we know who you 3 [probably more] are) you best bring facts like Marler did

If we are gonna talk about sports we are gonna do it with factual information. Rant on the HISTORIC DOWNFALL of the OVERRATED SEC this postseason in multiple sports https://t.co/7w3vIHUtaL
