PORTLAND, Maine (WABI) - Three of the top prospects of the Boston Red Sox have been promoted from AA Portland to AAA Worcester. Mayer, a 21-year-old shortstop is Boston’s number one prospect. In his 2024 season for Portland he’s had a .307 batting average with 8 home runs and 38 RBI. Mayer was drafted in the first round by the Red Sox in 2021.
