In January, the McKendree Bearcats lost their coach in a car wreck. They honored her with the best season in program history and a trip to the national tournament. To stream 5 On Your Side on your phone, you need the 5 On Your Side app. “I almost compare it to basketball. 'On one hand, it's fun to be part of something. It's hard not to get swept up in the dominance of being a Chiefs fan right now. But, they are not St. Louis' team.'And when you have a team in the same state, just four hours away, showing you the best of what a football team can be... it stings. For 38 years, Gildehaus has led Borgia football into battle. He’s won 300 games, a state championship in 1993 and guided multiple generations of young athletes. “My dad was there for his first win, and I was there for his 300th so that was cool," junior linebacker Henry Zeitzmann said. “He treats every one of his players like his sons and you really get a personal relationship with him.”But coach will be the first to tell you that his biggest impact has nothing to do with the wins.

And he did it without sight in one eye. “The story is that he and his brothers would race to school, and they would run in the road and he would run in the fields and jump over the fences and the shrubs," Osborn's daughter Susan Jones said. All that jumping carried Osborn to a legendary career at the University of Illinois in Champaign, and eventually, the 1924 Olympics in Paris.

Here’s the thing. Pete Rose proved time and again he didn’t deserve to be reinstated when he was alive. Removing players from the banned list after they die fulfills the punishment, and allows folks to move on. Rare Rob Manfred “W”

.@SLUSoftball is having a historic season... and they have a historic player on the roster. Abby Mallo has 80 RBI's this year in 56 games. She has SLU's career and single season home run records as a junior. She keeps mashing as the Bills prepare for their NCAA Tournament debut https://t.co/JqwgnwgNCg
