This year's Legislature passed House Bill 14, which creates a new $350 million fund for nuclear energy projects, along with a new state nuclear energy office.     The 2025 Texas Legislature was a mixed bag when it comes to immigration and border bills. Lawmakers passed some items on the GOP's priority list, like Senate Bill 8, which requires Texas sheriffs to sign cooperation agreements with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Conversely, 79% of Republicans approve of their Congressional leaders. The findings mirror a dismal overall picture for Dems, with only 21% of voters approving of Democrats in Congress, matching the record low set earlier this year.
