LYNCHBURG, Ohio (WXIX) - A Highland County family is honoring one of their own by keeping his booming business going. Terry McGinnis, the founder of the legendary Highland County Pizza and Grocery Store, died earlier this month from health issues. The store is known for its crazy shakes and has been a staple in Lynchburg for more than 45 years. Although Terry is gone, his family says the doors to the store will remain open as he would want them to be.

CINCINNATI (WXIX) -A man is arrested in connection with assaulting a firefighter, according to a Cincinnati Police Department Arrest and Investigation Report. Jail records show that Daivonn Owens, 26, is facing one count of assault and one count of misconduct at an emergency. According to the report, Owens hit a firefighter with a closed fist while the firefighter was performing life-saving measures on an infant on Sunset Avenue on Sunday.

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The family of a veteran shot and killed in Northside is asking for people to come forward with tips in the case. According to the Cincinnati Police Department, 55-year-old Charles Smith died at the scene of the shooting on Elmore Street Friday. Officers have not released any suspect information yet. “We’re telling people to consider if it was their family member,” said Carlton Collins, Smith’s godson and the spokesperson for the family.
