A team from Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has raised £7,410 for charity after taking part in the annual Taylor Wimpey Challenge. The housebuilder’s annual fundraising event, now in its 11th year, sees teams from across the UK work together to raise money to support the Youth Adventure Trust (YAT), a charity which inspires vulnerable young people aged 11 to 16 through outdoor adventure.

WORK is underway on the delivery of a ‘world-class’ athletics track at Scotstoun Stadium ahead of Glasgow 2026. The installation of the new track, which will run until September 5, represents the first phase of work at the stadium, which is in the west end of the city and is home to the Glasgow Warriors rugby team. The stadium was identified as the ideal venue to host athletics due to its existing infrastructure and the ‘minimal’ venue readiness work and overlay required.

THE story of power transmission in the north of Scotland is to be told in a new book published by SSE Heritage. The Highland Grid draws on over 100 years of archive documents, newspaper cuttings, and interviews with people who worked on the high voltage electricity network as long ago as the 1950s. The book describes how the national grid that was developed across the rest of Britain in the 1920s and 1930s never extended to the area of Scotland north of the central belt.
