SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Not many people before the 1940s had seen the now-famous Nutcracker Ballet — it took a Brigham City native bringing it to the American stage for people to see the ballet, originally created in 1892. Willam Christensen is the Utahn responsible for bringing the ballet back. Christensen brought the Nutcracker to the Capitol Theatre back in the 1940s and worked with it until he passed away in 2001.
