AMHERST, Wis. (WSAW) - It’s officially draft week. We’re days away from the festivities in Green Bay starting on Thursday, April 24th. While there’ll be big crowds and a lot of fun in Titletown, not everyone had that same experience. Tyler Biadasz, the current starting center of the Washington Commanders, was a fourth-round selection by the Cowboys in 2020. The Amherst native was drafted in the midst of the craze and unknown provided by the COVID-19 pandemic.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - There’s a new documentary coming out next month about former Packers QB Brett Favre. It won’t be flattering. It’s called “The Fall of Favre.”The one hour episode will look into his controversy surrounding Jenn Sterger, the former New York Jets sideline reporter, from his one season in New York. Plus, it’ll also go into his involvement in the Mississippi welfare case, which he has denied any wrongdoing. Favre denied interview requests for the doc.

WAUSAU, Wis. - Republican Vice Presidential nominee and Ohio Senator JD Vance made a campaign stop in Wausau on Monday. He took the stage at the Wausau Downtown Airport around 2 p.m. in front of a crowd of about 500-600 people. He spoke for roughly 30 minutes. With just eight days until Election Day, Wisconsin is under an even brighter spotlight as the two campaigns try and sway any undecisive voters in their direction.

LAC DU FLAMBEAU, Wis. (WSAW) - One person is dead and two others sent to the hospital after two motorcycles, dirt bikes, crashed into each other Friday night in Lac du Flambeau. The Vilas County Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls at approximately 8:40 pm of a crash involving two motorcycles on County Hwy H near Sundance Trail. When the Tribal Police Department and Vilas County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived, a 911 caller, who is an EMT, was providing aid and gave first responders information.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Former President Donald Trump will visit Central Wisconsin Airport next Saturday. Doors to the event will open at 9 a.m. Trump is expected to speak at 1:00. General admission tickets can be requested here. In two previous visits to central Wisconsin, October 24, 2018 and September 17, 2020, rallies were held at Central Wisconsin Airport. Since the assassination attempt on Trump in July in Butler, Indiana, he’s held just one rally outside.

MILWAUKEE (WSAW) - The biggest fashion statement of the week has been people wearing white bandages over their right ear. That’s their show of support for Trump who’s wearing a bandage over his right ear where he was shot. For the tens of thousands who have made their way to Milwaukee this week, it’s a chance to show off their team pride. “This has been ages in the making, at least one year, but this is from 2020 so this is previous elections,” said Christi Svatek-Whitson from Michigan.

MILWAUKEE (WSAW) - In a few hours, Milwaukee will close the chapter on the Republican National Convention. For the most part, everything has gone pretty smoothly. The first day was a bit of a headache as far as getting into the perimeter as it took more than two hours, but since then, organizers cleaned it up, and getting inside has taken 15-20 minutes tops. Chair of the Milwaukee RNC Host Committee Reince Priebus says it’s been a great week.

MILWAUKEE (WSAW) - The Republican National Convention will be wrapping up business today in Milwaukee. On the fourth and final day, former President Donald Trump will accept the party’s nomination. The latest NewsChannel 7 heard since our crews arrived inside the perimeter on Thursday is that Trump wrote his entire speech himself. It’s believed he took his original speech and ripped it up after last week’s assassination attempt.
