SPENCER, Wis. (WSAW) - A nine-year-old girl from Spencer is raising money for adaptive equipment for parks in her community. Sophia Felix is a young girl with big dreams. She started this inspiring initiative to make sure everyone can do the things they love. Sophia’s brother, Noel, was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder that impacted his mobility. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2021.

EDGAR, Wis. (WSAW) - Students at Edgar High School are using their talents to help restore an antique tractor. They have restored tractors, ranging from the mid 1930’s to the 1970’s. They recently restored a tractor that was donated from a business in the Edgar area. “We’ve done about 13 tractors in 11 years here at Edgar High School,” said Matt Reinders, who is an agricultural instructor and an FFA advisor at Edgar High School. Many of these tractors are donated from farmers around the area.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - The Wausau Woodchucks have defeated the Green Bay Rockers 6-3 in a late comeback victory. Keagan Jirschele started things off with a solo home run to make it a 1-0 game. Then, the Rockers scored two runs in the fourth inning, giving them the lead. But, Christian Smith-Johnson would tie it in the 5th inning, with a two-run RBI triple. That was also the first triple of the season for the Woodchucks. The Rockers would take the lead in the seventh inning, making it a 3-2 game.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - It is a bittersweet day for students and staff at Hewitt-Texas Elementary School. They are one of four schools shutting down. It is part of Wausau School District’s consolidation process. On Friday, May 30, students and staff said their goodbyes one last time with a sendoff event. Principal Katelyn Landerman says Friday’s event is an indication on how much this school has meant to the community, adding that it is not just about the walls that make up the school.

WITTENBERG, Wis. (WSAW) - Wittenberg-Birnamwood defeated Amherst in the high school softball playoffs 5-3 to advance to the next round. Sophie Lemieux gets things started early for Wittenberg-Birnamwood, with an RBI double. Shortly after, Amherst would throw a wild pitch, bringing in Evelyn Fletcher to score.
