The answers to the questions that will define various NFL teams in 2025 won’t begin to uncover themselves until training camps commence in July. But between rookie camps, minicamps and OTAs, The Athletic’s beat writers have plenty to ponder for now. How have new head coaches adjusted in their first practices? Has an embattled player arrived looking like a remade version of himself? Has a free-agent addition impressed early? What about a rookie who’s changed the outlook on an anticipated camp battle?

Certain players just move differently on a football field. It’s obvious from the first time you see them. The New York Giants have had a few such players over the past decade. Odell Beckham Jr., Saquon Barkley and Malik Nabers top the list. Rookie Abdul Carter appears next in that line of instant stars. Of course, the disclaimer that Carter has yet to put on pads for a full practice as a Giant is necessary.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The heavy lifting of the New York Giants’ offseason program wrapped up Tuesday. The team will take the field for what figures to be a light practice Wednesday to conclude a two-day minicamp. The team will then disperse for a five-week break before reporting to training camp in late July.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - The New York Giants were on the field Thursday for their ninth OTA practice. It was a much tamer session than their last open practice, which ended prematurely when offensive linemen James Hudson and Jermaine Eluemunor brawled with linebackers Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns. Coach Brian Daboll said he likes the way players have competed this spring, though he wants to "try to stay away from" fights.

The New York Giants have just $1.6 million in salary cap space, the lowest amount in the league according to the NFLPA. That will surely change soon because $1.6 million isn't nearly enough cap space to sign their draft class. The Giants will also need additional cap space down the road for in-season expenses, including the practice squad and injury replacements.

Home and home is a new twist on the in-state joint practices. Giants and Jets held a single joint practice in 2024 and 2022 before their annual preseason game

Jets and Giants will be holding joint practices both in Florham Park and East Rutherford, Aaron Glenn said.

Slightly higher floor, slightly lower ceiling than the contract Russell Wilson signed with the Giants. Cheaper than a lot of the projections were out there when his market was at its hottest

It’s a 1-year deal worth up to $19.5M with $10M guaranteed and $13.65M base.

Need to get the binoculars back in midseason form! Was a challenge keeping up with all the QB rotating today, but here’s my report on practice: https://t.co/FaxHz4SiBu
