You'll be off to see the Wizard, Dorothy, Toto and the rest of the Oz gang in literary form when the Friends of the West Islip Public Library holds its annual vintage and premium book sale May 30-31. Several first and second editions from L. Frank Baum's popular series of books about the land of Oz will be among the treasures up for grabs at the sale, which helps raise funds for the library.

June marks the 65th anniversary of Alfred Hitchcock's thriller "Psycho" hitting theaters, and we haven't stopped recovering from the ripple effects of that shower scene. Not only has the movie endured, but so has one of its cast members, Vera Miles, who is the last surviving actor from the movie. Elvis — Costello, that is — will be in the building that is the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, along with Woodbury son Adam Pascal, Foreigner, The Smithereens and the great white shark from "Jaws" next season. The entertainment venue on LIU Post's campus in Brookville on Thursday announced its 2025-26 season, which will be jam-packed with music from Broadway to baroque. And there will also be all that jazz with the Tilles Jazzfest, a daylong affair starting at noon on July 19.
