    Elvis — Costello, that is — will be in the building that is the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, along with Woodbury son Adam Pascal, Foreigner, The Smithereens and the great white shark from "Jaws" next season. The entertainment venue on LIU Post's campus in Brookville on Thursday announced its 2025-26 season, which will be jam-packed with music from Broadway to baroque. And there will also be all that jazz with the Tilles Jazzfest, a daylong affair starting at noon on July 19.

    "Redwood," the tree-hugging Broadway musical starring Syosset's Idina Menzel, is about to get the ax three months earlier than planned. Producers of the show — one of whom is Menzel — announced Friday that "Redwood" will play its final performance on May 18. The news comes as a bit of a surprise after a March announcement that "Redwood" had been given a six-week extension and would be closing on Aug. 17.

    A Depression-era pauper, a prince of ancient Egypt and a '70s queen of pop are all headed to the stage of The Argyle Theatre in Babylon. Dylan and Mark Perlman, the father-and-son duo who own the theater announced the 2025-26 lineup on Monday. "Sister Act," "Annie," "Disney's Newsies," the Long Island premiere of "The Prince of Egypt" and "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" are the five shows making up the season, which will begin in September. "We want to provide something for everyone.

    Seaford Cinemas, a multiplex on Merrick Road, is the latest in a string of local movie houses making their final fade-out. It will close on Monday. On Friday morning, the theater's website featured the following announcement: "Seaford Cinemas will be closing its doors as of Monday, April 28, 2025. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has come to enjoy movies at our theater over the last few years.
