The A303 is closed in both directions following a serious crash overnight. Emergency services attended the major route before midnight on Monday (14 April) following reports of a road traffic collision in the Mere area. At least one person has sustained significant injuries in the smash – sparking a forensic collision investigation at the scene. The road is likely to remain closed until around midday today (Tuesday).

A Chippenham junction is partially blocked after a early morning car crash. Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision in Marshfield Road shortly before 6am this morning (Tuesday). Two vehicles – a blue Fiat Punto and a grey BMW 2 Series – were involved in the incident on the roundabout with Audley Road and Park Lane. “The force of the collision and the noise woke me from my deep sleep”, one local resident told Wiltshire 999s.

Firefighters have extinguished flames at a private school in a Wiltshire town. Emergency services were called to reports of a fire breaking out at Warminster School shortly before 5pm this afternoon (Monday). Police closed Church Street in both directions as fire crews raced to deal with the blaze. A fire commander at the scene told Wiltshire 999s that the flames started in a window frame – before starting to ingress into the boarding school’s living quarters.

An arson attack on a farm in Faringdon is being investigated by the police. Emergency services raced to reports of a large fire on Church Path Farm at around 7pm on Friday evening (11 April). Firefighters worked to bring the raging blaze under control for several hours. Farmer Amy Shoemake believes a group of youths, who were seen nearby shortly before the fire, are responsible for it.

A huntsman has been charged with pursuing foxes across the Cotswolds. 46-year-old Oliver Dale is accused of hunting a wild mammal with dogs, contrary to Section 1 of the Hunting Act 2004, on three occasions. The allegations relate to operations by The North Cotswold Hunt on 12 October, 2 November and 16 November 2024. Dale, of Cheltenham, is due to appear before Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 16 May.
