GRAY SUMMIT — The Visitor Center at Purina Farms, which was extensively damaged by a March 14 tornado, will not be able to open this year, a Purina spokesman announced Thursday. However, the Event Center suffered less damage and will be open for the season as usual. The Event Center is where the dog shows and other events are held. The March storm did not harm any employees or animals. The battered Visitor Center includes the Education Barn, Pet Adoption Center and Incredible Dog Arena.

You’ve heard of naked bike rides: A large group of people ride their bicycles down public thoroughfares wearing little or no clothing. A tweed ride is much the same thing, only they wear perhaps too much clothing. And the bicycles tend to be considerably older. Eric Peters gave some thought to riding his 1896 Columbus Buggy Co. bicycle at the St. Louis Tweed Ride 2025 on April 25.

ST. LOUIS — The potential sale of beleaguered community radio station KDHX has turned into a bidding war between two powerhouse evangelical Christian radio outlets. Gateway Creative Broadcasting Inc., the Des Peres-based company that operates both 99.1 Joy FM and the BOOST network of Christian hip-hop stations, filed a motion in U.S. Bankruptcy Court on Monday offering to buy KDHX's assets for $5.5 million.

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis Public Radio CEO Tina Pamintuan is leaving the local stations to take the reins at the largest NPR outlet in Seattle. St. Louis Public Radio chief of staff Jess Luther will serve as interim general manager beginning April 26, she announced in a posting on the STLPR website. Pamintuan has been with the local public radio stations for more than three years. She will become president and general manager of KUOW, which touts itself as the top news station in Seattle.
