A Headingley JD Wetherspoon pub has withdrawn an application to be allowed to admit participants of the famous Otley Run pub crawl on consecutive Saturdays. The Golden Beam had applied for five TENs, (Temporary Event Notices), a third of their yearly allowance, to temporarily dis-apply their licensing condition that bans Otley Runners on five consecutive Saturdays starting on May 10, according to a social media post by councillors Abdul Hannan and Jonathan Pryor.

A man who was involved in attempting to steal in excess of £78k worth of items from stores up and down the country was caught in Yorkshire. In August last year, officers from Humberside Police Roads Crime Team were alerted to a vehicle being driven into our area by a man who was believed to be connected to a shop theft from a store in Market Weighton.

A man who died after a crash into a wall in West Yorkshire has been named by police. Officers were called shortly after 7pm on Friday May 2 to reports of the crash on Brighouse and Denholme Road in Bradford. The driver of the Volkswagen Polo – 26-year-old Freddie Clarke - died at the scene. His vehicle was travelling away from Queensbury towards Denholme at the time of the crash, police said.

Charles Pickering, 24, was doing 60mph in a 40mph zone when he hit a 53-year-old woman in his Caddy van. She died at the scene. He had heavily modified his car. Pickering answered no comment during interview. He has been jailed - for 18 months. https://t.co/mhXUYfPQOq
