    A cyclist in his 60s has been left seriously injured and remains in hospital following a crash near Harrogate, prompting a police appeal for witnesses. The ambulance service reported a crash near Harrogate at 11:14am, on Tuesday (May 27). A crash had occurred involving a single cyclist, travelling on an orange bike, on Cinder Lane in Lindley. The cyclist, a man in his 60s, was injured and remains in hospital in a serious condition. Police have launched an appeal for any witnesses to come forward.

    A Middlesbrough man drove into a group of people outside of a pub, pinned a woman against a wall and caused life-changing injuries, a court heard. In June 2024 Michael Kinlan, 23, was involved in an altercation inside a pub, in Middlesbrough. The court heard that after this he drove a car into a group of people outside the pub and pinned a woman against a wall causing serious injury. Kinlan then reversed the car and again drove at a group of people causing further injuries to others.

    An overturned tanker has caused delays and a major road closure on the A160 near Killingholme. At 8:48am on Wednesday (May 28), Humberside Fire and Rescue reported emergency services were dealing with a crash involving “a lorry on its side”, near Killingholme. National Highways later confirmed the incident involved an overturned tanker at the Habrough roundabout. The incident has caused the A160 to be closed both ways between the A1077 and the A180 near South Killingholme in North Lincolnshire.

    An “extremely dangerous” and “controlling” man has been jailed after he subjected his victim to “extreme levels of violent abuse” over four weeks. Deven Huteson, 26, from Hull, has received a jail sentence after he subjected a woman to “extreme levels of violent abuse and controlling behaviours” over a four week period. Huteson pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating, three counts of criminal damage and malicious communications.

    A man has been charged with attempted murder after a pedestrian was left in a life-threatening condition after a hit-and-run in Rotherham. At 4:40pm on Saturday (May 24), police responded to reports of a crash on Fitzwilliam Road, in Rotherham. Emergency services attended where they found a man, 48, with serious injuries believed to be caused by a vehicle. The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition.
