Police have launched an appeal after a man was left in hospital, in a serious condition, with a head injury after an assault in Sheffield. At 8:37pm on Saturday (Apr 19), police were called to reports of an assault on Birley Moor Road, in Sheffield. It was reported a man in his 30s was assaulted near The Sherwood pub. The man was taken to hospital, with a head injury, where he remains in a serious condition. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Police have launched an attempted murder investigation after a man was shot in Bradford following an alleged verbal altercation in a car park. Shortly after 10pm on Saturday (Apr 19), police were called by the ambulance service who were attending to a man in Bradford. The ambulance services reported a man had been injured after a firearm discharge and attended the hospital with a gunshot wound.

The Heptonstall Pace Egg play returned to Weavers Square in Hebden Bridge for a 2025 Good Friday performance. The traditional Mumming Play returned for 2025 with the Hillmillies Morris team dancing between plays. On Good Friday (Apr 18), the Heptonstall Pace Egg play once again took over Weavers Square in Hebden Bridge. Pace Egg plays are traditional plays with unique characters and are performed during Easter, typically in the north of England.

Dramatic bodycam footage has captured the moment armed officers intercepted a suspect following an alleged machete sighting in Doncaster. On Sunday (Apr 13), South Yorkshire Police was alerted to reports of a blue Peugeot suspected of being driven on cloned plates around the Edlington area of Doncaster. Police also had reports one of the occupants of the car was suspected of being seen in possession of a machete the day before.

Police have launched an appeal after a 14-year-old girl was reported missing after not returning home from walking her dog. Isabella Hayward, 14, from Allerton Bywater, was last seen on Friday (Apr 18), at 12:30pm. The teenager left her home to walk her dog, but did not return home. Police said Isabella was last seen wearing a stone coloured White Fox top and black leggings. Isabella was walking her dog, Cooper, a sandy coloured Cockapoo with a blue collar.
