    Ford’s 1979 Probe I Ghia concept car went up into flames while in its trailer during the transport home from the 2024 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. According to photos shared on social media, the one-off concept is now just a charred steel shell. The car was last shown at Pebble Beach in the Wedge Shaped Concept Cars & Prototypes class.

    It’s amazing that this myth still survives in the 21st Century. The short version of this falsehood is that concrete floors can magically drain the charge from a typical lead-acid battery. This is a complete fairy tale. Any battery will tend to discharge naturally over time. The reality is that this discharge process is accelerated by dirt and corrosion formed across the top of the battery case. To prove this point, dig out your digital voltmeter that can accurately read in 0.01-volts.

    The guys at Lee Power Steering tell us that anytime you add a new steering box, it’s important to also include new hoses and a new power steering pump. They tell us that power steering boxes employ incredibly tight tolerances that can be rendered inoperative if debris from a deteriorating hose or junk in the pump enters the steering box. They also recommend adding a power steering fluid filter in the system to prevent problems down the road.
