WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Some journeys are easy while others are difficult, this includes one tattoo artist who owns a shop in Downtown Wilmington. Chris Dobson now owns Castle Keep Tattoo in Wilmington but it’s hard to believe this is where he now spends his days. For a decade he was confined to a much smaller space, prison. “I was stuck in a cell, around the worst of the worst,” said the owner of Castle Keep Tattoo Chris Dobson.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Women’s soccer playoffs continue with top-seeded Hoggard hosting Willow Spring. Vikings haven’t allowed a single goal so far in the playoffs. First half, Brielle Archer out hustle everyone to the loose ball and she punches it in leaving the score 1-0 Hoggard. Then Archer takes advantage of the Willow Spring mistake- bringing the score to 2-0. Brielle Archer passes to Ellis Kelly, she gets through the double team and hammers it home.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) -Ashley hosting Cardinal Gibbons in the Women’s soccer playoffs. Screaming Eagles haven’t given up a playoff goal, until Gibbons was on the move. The initial shot hits the post, bounces back out and Charlotte Fusco puts the Crusaders on top 1-0. Then after being tripped in the box, Savannah Monset has no problem with the penalty kick. The score now 1-1Still in the first half, Monset with a great pass right at the net and Arianna Marshall gets the glory. 2-1 at that point.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Two people have been taken into custody after a pursuit that ended with a crash in the Landsdowne neighborhood on Sunday, April 27 according to the Carolina Beach Police Department. According to Sgt. Edens with the Carolina Beach Police Department, the chase started when the suspect fled from a traffic stop. The vehicle then led police on a chase before crashing at the entrance to Landsdowne, that’s when the suspects fled on foot.

SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WECT) -Southport Police Department officers responded to a home on W. 11th Street near Caswell Ave. on Sunday, April 27, due to an approximately 12-14- foot alligator. The residents were alerted and the area was secured by officers, and NC Wildlife was notified. According to a post on the Southport Police Department Facebook page, because of the size and lack of equipment for a large gator, NC Wildlife responded. The alligator was safely captured and will be relocated.
