The barn at Greenbank Farm (Image: PFK) PLANS to convert a derelict Lake District farm building into a holiday let have been given the green light after a similar proposal on the site was withdrawn due to local occupancy policy. The owners of Greenbank Farm, Mr and Mrs Abel, have been given permission by the Lake District National Park Authority to convert a redundant barn on the property into a three-bedroom short-term holiday let.

AN inquest has opened into the death of a 21-year-old woman from Carlisle who was killed in a crash on the A7. Ella Isobel Bush, of Criffel Road, Carlisle, died on March 20, 2025 on the A7 between Westlinton and Blackford after the Peugeot 208 she was driving collided with a HGV at around 11am.
