The North team won the 67th annual Nebraska Shrine Bowl football game 28-21 on Saturday at Ron and Carol Cope Stadium. The North lead 8-7 heading into the break thanks to and 11-yard touchdown pass from Omaha Burke’s Nate Collins to Omaha North’s Conner O’Neill. Second half offensive player of the game Chadron’s Quinn Bailey scored his lone touchdown on a two-yard touchdown run. The Western Colorado commit rushed for 78-yards on 23 carries.

The Stars are shining bright at Kearney Catholic High School. For the second consecutive season the Kearney Catholic girls Track & Field team won the team title dominating class C putting up 79 points and beating second place Syracuse by 29 points. “Honestly, I think I can speak for everyone when I say this is a huge accomplishment,” said Kearney Catholic sophomore Alyssa Onnen. Onnen along with junior Hazel Haarberg led the Stars winning a combined five gold medals.
