Realizing there were four students at Elwood Public Schools with some of the rarest diseases in the world pre-school teachers Jami Garey and Ronna Banzhaf decided to create an initiative called Pirates Providing Hope.

    Young farmers from all over traveled to Kearney to discuss the challenges they are facing due to inflation and to share new and upcoming farming techniques. Hundreds showed up to the Farmer Bureau of Young Farmers and Ranchers Conference to also listen to issues from mental health to tax bills. The Farmer Bureau of Young Farmers and Ranchers Conference was a two-day event that started with tours of different agriculture facilities and concluded with several keynote speakers.

This restaurant that has served as the longest continuously operated, complete full-service family restaurant in Kearney is now being forced to move.
