    PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Police say a 5-year-old girl is dead after she was reportedly shot by her older brother Tuesday night in south Phoenix. Now, her father is facing a felony charge. On Wednesday, Phoenix police announced that 33-year-old Irvin Ramos-Jimenez was arrested in connection with the shooting. Officers were dispatched to an “unknown trouble” call around 9:15 p.m. near 6th Avenue and Wier Avenue, which is south of Broadway Road.

Authorities say 29-year-old Dakota Barnes was arrested Tuesday afternoon on two counts of aggravated assault and one count of unlawful discharge in connection with Saturday’s shooting.

    PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The first of seven defendants to cut a deal with prosecutors in the murder of Queen Creek teen Preston Lord is set to learn his punishment. William Owen Hines, 19, will be sentenced by a Maricopa County judge on Friday afternoon. Hines took part in the deadly beating of 16-year-old Lord at a Halloween party in Queen Creek on Oct. 28, 2023. Lord died two days later at the hospital. After Hines pleaded guilty in March, he admitted to kicking Lord at least once during the attack.
