CLEVELAND - Some students are getting ready for the trip of a lifetime. Some band members from Bayou Academy will participate in the All-american D-Day band in Washington, D.C., and Normandy France, representing Mississippi Delta. Starting June 6th, band students around the country will gather and perform in Washington, D.C., Paris, and Normandy, France as the All-American D-Day Band. Bayou Academy Band students Ava Knight Stewart and Hall Van Namen have been selected and will represent the Delta.

ROSEDALE - Communities all up ad down the Mississippi river are watching its levels as we head for a crest well above flood stage next week. You can already see some of the effects along the river in low lying areas. Last weekend, excessive rainfall and storms around the country raised water levels along the Mississippi River. We asked folks in Rosedale what they think of the high water and more than 20 folks in Rosedale said it is not a big deal.

CLEVELAND - A research showcase today brought college students and professors across Mississippi to Delta State University, in an usual academic event. Students got the chance to share their research in many different areas, in "Science Fair" fashion. Dozens of people gathered at Delta State University to attend the Delta State Annual Academic Research Showcase. Students came to show projects they’ve worked on in the past academic year.

ROSEDALE - It's been several months since we first reported on the distillery, museum, and more planned for Rosedale. So how are those plans coming along? Loraine Bingham of Rosedale says she’s excited to see some upcoming improvements in downtown Rosedale. “We need more stores, we need more things for our children. And in order to do that, I believe that the distillery and all that's about to happen right now is going is a plus” said Bingham.

ROSEDALE - It's been a very active storm season so far this year, and lots of us have those familiar tornado series at least a few times since the beginning of the year. But some people in Bolivar County say they needed to hear the sirens in recent storms, but didn't. As the Delta News reported Monday, sirens in three Bolivar County towns did not go off when tested and two of them were in areas included in last Saturday's tornado warnings.
