Today, the Mississippi Department of Transportation Central District gave away some grant money for municipalities to fix their sidewalks and pavement. Jeffrey Isbell of Cleveland says he enjoys walking. “I think. it's a really nice place to walk at least when its not really hot outside” said Isbell. CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Rotary Club will host a fundraiser to provide scholarships to local students and more. They'll be grilling burgers to raise money. The Rotary Club of Cleveland will host a “Burgers for Benefits” fundraiser on May 21st at the firehouse at the Cleveland Municipal Airport. Chet Oguz of Cleveland says fundraisers like this helped his son go to college. “One of those scholarships received by my son, and so, you know, it was definitely helpful” said Oguz.

MOUND BAYOU - There's concern in Mound Bayou tonight over a weekend shooting that left an individual dead. So far, police aren't saying much about the incident, but people in th etown are saying plenty. Witnesses say Donald Robinson of Mound Bayou was walking back home around 1 AM on May 4th, when he was shot six times. Bullets hit the front on his shoulder, chest, and stomach.

According to the Education Data Initiative, student loan debt in the United States totaled $1.77 trillion in 2024.
