Former Greenock salon could become pilates studio (Image: Archive) A VACANT former hairdressers shop in Greenock could be set for a new lease of life as a pilates studio. Inverclyde Council planning have received a change of use application with regard to the Sherlocks premises on Cathcart Street. The application is for a temporary change of use for a period of three years. The matter is now pending consideration by the local authority.

(Image: George Munro) SCOTLAND'S Auditor General has been asked to investigate a company whose directors include Inverclyde Council leader Stephen McCabe after public funds were used to secure land in Greenock which is now wholly owned by private firm Clydeport.

Jack Trainner (Image: Police Scotland) DETECTIVES have charged a man in connection with the death of Jack Trainner in Port Glasgow. The arrested 23-year-old is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court today, Police Scotland confirmed. A report is to be submitted to the procurator fiscal, the force said last night. Mr Trainner, 27, was found seriously injured within the common close of a block of flats at the Port's Brookfield Road on April 27.
