Gardai are appealing to motorists to slow down and to exercise caution as roads across the country are 'trickier than usual' this Easter weekend. While all of the Met Éireann rain warnings have now been lifted, there is still a risk of isolated heavy showers across the country for the remainder of the bank holiday weekend. In an appeal on social media, gardaí said members across the country have responded to a number of single-vehicle collisions this Saturday.

An investigation has been launched following the discovery of partial human remains during renovations of a property in west Cork. Gardai say the remains, believed to be a human skull, were found in the garden of a house near the village of Eyeries on the Beara Peninsula on Good Friday. The scene, close to the fishing town of Castletownbere, has been preserved pending an examination by a pathologist, which will determine the nature of the garda investigation.

Tributes are pouring in for Julian Benson, a former judge on RTÉ's Dancing with the Stars, who has died. The 54-year-old dancer, choreographer and talent agent passed away peacefully this Saturday, surrounded by his family and closest friends after a courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis. Julian, was born in Adelaide, Australia, became a household name in Ireland in 2017 when he joined the judging panel on RTÉ’s Dancing with the Stars.

An Irish player came agonisingly close to winning a life-changing jackpot in Friday's Euromillions draw. However, it was still a Good Friday for the Wicklow player who won €134,388 after their ticket matched 5 numbers and one lucky star. The player was one of five players across the participating countries to achieve the feat just in time for Easter. There was no winner of the main jackpot (match 5 + two lucky stars) of €52,448,887.

Pre-production is underway in Ireland for a major new US TV series, which will be shot at Troy Studios in Limerick and on location across the Mid-West region. As well as shining a spotlight on Limerick, Tipperary and Clare, The Wayfinders is a set to provide a jobs boost for the region with 140 crew members and up to 200 extras expected on set each day.
