BRIDGMAN — The Bridgman City Council named Brett Boyd as this year’s recipient of the Dorothea Crocker Bridgman Lifetime Volunteer Award during its June 2 regular meeting. Mayor Jan Trapani said Boyd was recognized for “all of the things that you do for Bridgman, your participation in every event was have here, you’re the first one to volunteer.”Boyd is a board member for the Greater Bridgman Area Chamber and Growth Alliance and has been involved in numerous events and projects in the community.

THREE OAKS — A mysterious building located in downtown Three Oaks since the early 1930s is about to gain a much higher profile. Formerly headquarters of E.K. Warren and Sons, and later the Warren Oil & Gas Company, the gray structure at 7 South Elm Street was handed over to The Region of Three Oaks Museum during a June 12 ceremony held outdoors. Donor Jim Barkhurst was on hand to sign a quit-claim deed conveying the building to the museum.

BRIDGMAN — The Bridgman Baseball team faced the state’s top-ranked team in a June 5 Division 4 Regional Semifinal contest, and emerged victorious. Senior Wade Haskins’ two-out, two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning broke a 2-2 tie. “I had to go up there and be very calm, just keep that energy going from the 2023 team,” he said. “He gave me a pitch and I was able to take ahold of it and take it out to right field and bring in two runs.

THREE OAKS — The Red Arrow Raiders high school softball team took some big steps forward during the New Buffalo-River Valley combined program’s second season. The team finished the 2025 campaign with a 19-12 record after going 8-19 the previous season. Head coach Erick Rochefort said the Raiders finished just one game behind Michigan Lutheran in the BCS Conference standings.
