BRIDGMAN — The Bridgman Baseball team faced the state’s top-ranked team in a June 5 Division 4 Regional Semifinal contest, and emerged victorious. Senior Wade Haskins’ two-out, two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning broke a 2-2 tie. Starter Jonathan Necas had a stellar outing, limiting the Comets to single runs in the second and fifth innings.

BRIDGMAN — The Bridgman High School baseball team gutted out a tight 6-5 victory against Constantine on May 31 to capture a third straight Division 3 district championship. Bridgman head coach Justin Hahaj said the Bees had to score enough runs and play solid defense to beat an excellent Constantine squad. With the score knotted at 4-4 Chuck Pagel led off the Bridgman fifth with a double. Ethan Stine then drove the baseball past a diving second baseman.

BRIDGMAN — A sixth-inning outburst lifted Decatur to a 7-4 Division 4 district semifinal victory over Bridgman on May 31. The Raiders scored twice in the top of the second as Hannah Northrup stroked a two-run single to right field. The Bees got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third when Riley Paveza walked and Carmen Ernsberger doubled her in. Neither team would score again until the top of the sixth when Decatur tallied four runs to seize a 6-1 advantage.
