LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The family of a truck driver hurt in a crash on I-65 at Spaghetti Junction last week has started a GoFundMe to help with medical bills and other expenses. The trucker, who is from Arkansas, broke his leg, foot and ankle after he leapt from the truck. This happened on Friday on I-65 near the Kennedy Bridge. the truck went over the barrier and caught fire. The semi fell from the roadway onto the ramps for I-64 East and I-71 North below. The bridge reopened several hours later.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - It was a moving moment caught on camera. Asian elephant Punch reached through their enclosure to give a comforting touch to African elephant Mikki, her roommate of 38 years. The two had just been reunited after a tense journey, transporting each of them from the Louisville Zoo to their new home, The Elephant Sanctuary, in Tennessee. It is 3,000 acres of refuge, where Punch and Mikki will roam in peace and safety with 12 other aging elephants.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The storied Louisville Gardens is about to begin a new chapter. The 120-year-old building is going into the movie business with a $70 million renovation. With filmmakers leaving Hollywood in droves, Kentucky passed tax incentives to draw them here and the jobs that come with them. The plan now is for this cavernous arena to give them the place they need to put people to work shooting the next blockbuster movie, hit TV show, or commercials.

LA GRANGE, Ky. (WAVE) - D.W. Griffith Lane in La Grange dead ends at a place more associated with popcorn than an industrial sized data center. The family-owned Sauerbek Drive-in has been a popular summertime fun spot in Oldham County for the last 7 years, but that may be about to change. ”It was all just a ‘we need this parcel specifically for its access to utilities,’” owner Stephen Sauerbeck said.
