Two-minute readHazlet Town Center, a revitalized shopping center on Route 35, has been sold for $44 million. LJL Realty acquired the 190,000-square-foot center from OASG Hazlet LLC in a property exchange. The center, formerly Kmart Plaza, is currently 90% leased and anchored by Aldi, Burlington, and Urban Air. HAZLET -- Hazlet Town Center, the Route 35 shopping center brought back to life after the Kmart there died nearly a decade ago, has been sold for $44 million, according to CBRE.

One-minute readHOWELL -- Arooga's Grille House & Sports Bar, which opened on Route 9 over four years ago, appears to have closed. The restaurant's location, previously listed as North Howell, is no longer on Arooga's website. Arooga's still has another New Jersey restaurant on Route 18 in East Brunswick. A spokesperson could not be reached for comment.

About 30 employees at Jersey Central Power & Light were laid off this past week as part of series of cuts across FirstEnergy Corp.'s electric utilities in five states, the company said. FirstEnergy has cut about 350 workers companywide, representing less than 3% of its total workforce, spokesperson Jennifer Young said in a statement.
