Oelwein Chapter CL P.E.O. June 16 meeting was held at the Maynard Public Library. Chapter CL’s, Vice-President and Convention Delegate Mary Jellings shared a very informative 132nd P.E.O. State Convention PowerPoint. The Iowa 2025 “We Rise By Lifting Others” session was held at the downtown Des Moines Marriott on May 31 and June 1. Mary was able to attend with her sister, Sue Martens, a member of Sioux City Chapter.

FAYETTE — Upper Iowa University has announced the dean’s list for the 2025 spring semester. To be honored, a student must have earned a minimum 3.50 grade point average and be enrolled as a full-time student. Area students earning academic excellence with inclusion in the spring dean’s list are given alphabetically by their hometowns.

Monday, June 16At approximately 1:20 p.m. Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Elizaveta Alexandra Wilson, 26, of Waterloo, on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for probation violation and was taken into custody from the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office.

Fifteen members and one guest of the Tuesday Tourist Club finished their 2024-25 year of activities at Costa’s in Fairbank on May 8. After a delicious meal, Linda Potter led the business meeting. Each group member shared their plans for the summer. Barb Sanders gave the treasurer’s report, and Viv Rourke read the minutes from the April 8 meeting. A thank you was read from Susan Bilodeau. Her mother, the late Frankie King, was an honorary lifetime member of the group.

MADISON, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Madison has recognized students named to the dean's list for the spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. Students who achieve at a high level academically are recognized by the dean at the close of each semester. To be eligible students must complete a minimum of 12 graded degree credits in that semester. Each university school or college sets its own GPA requirements for students to be eligible to receive the distinction.
