DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) -Three artists have been chosen to showcase the power of mural art by creating a mural in real time during the 2024 Alternating Currents Festival set to run Aug. 15 to 18. The selected artists, Erykah Danner, Shayla Ray, and Tony Cavallo, began drawing their design at the mural site on Aug. 15 and will continue to paint through Aug.17. The lead artists that are overseeing the project are Atlanta Dawn and Heidi Sallows.

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Gilda’s Club Quad Cities is expanding its services to the entire state of Iowa. According to an announcement from the non-profit, the expansion comes after Gilda’s Club received a grant from the Iowa Cancer Consortium. Iowa has the second-highest cancer incidence rate in the nation. This underscores how crucial it is that Gilda’s Club can bring no-cost support to even more Iowans.
