DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) -SERVPRO of the Quad Cities, Kewanee and Burlington is hosting the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Charity Golf Outing on Sept. 13 at Fyre Lake Golf Club in Sherrard, IL. DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) -Three artists have been chosen to showcase the power of mural art by creating a mural in real time during the 2024 Alternating Currents Festival set to run Aug. 15 to 18. The selected artists, Erykah Danner, Shayla Ray, and Tony Cavallo, began drawing their design at the mural site on Aug. 15 and will continue to paint through Aug.17. The lead artists that are overseeing the project are Atlanta Dawn and Heidi Sallows.

According to an announcement from the non-profit, the expansion comes after Gilda’s Club received a grant from the Iowa Cancer Consortium. Iowa has the second-highest cancer incidence rate in the nation. This underscores how crucial it is that Gilda’s Club can bring no-cost support to even more Iowans.

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) -Free backpacks will soon be handed out at six local Verizon stores for the back-to-school season. On Sunday, July 28 at 1 p.m., Verizon retailer Round Room will hold their twelfth annual “Schools Rock Backpack Giveaway” at participating Verizon stores across the country. It is part of an effort to alleviate the cost of one of the higher ticket items on the back-to-school supplies list. This year’s giveaway is valued at $3 million in free backpacks.
