We have a few lefties charging up the board this week, all names we have seen in the top 50 or so on this list in the past due to their strikeout upside. I talked about Anthony Banda last week when covering the Dodgers bullpen, and how Banda appears to have moved past Alex Vesia in the pecking order. Since the All-Star break Banda holds 28.2% K-BB rate, 22.3% SwStr and 37.2% CSW rates as well as a 2.26 xFIP over 18 innings.

+ Top 100 RP rankings for Saves + Holds leagues in 2024. David Robertson, Bryan Abreu, Jorge Alcala, John Brebbia, Emmanuel Clase, Fernando Cruz, Jason Foley, Josh Hader, Jeff Hoffman, Dedniel Núñez and Kirby Yates all had three SV+HLDs this past week with Robertson racking up four holds. Robertson may be having the best season of his career at age 37 and should net the Rangers a good return this deadline (Yates as well).

Alex Vesia is still one of the most underrated relievers in baseball, and it’s really unfortunate he only has 4 holds on the year (2 in the past two weeks) because he’s been amazing really since mid April. Over his past 22.1 IP he has 41.3% K and 15.2 SwStr rates, a 0.67 WHIP, 2.36 SIERA and 121 Stuff+. His fastball is always grading out as one of the best in the game by PLV due to it’s 19.8 iVB! and the sliders not too shabby either (5.43 PLV, 48.3% Whiff).
