The Wild Heron community hosted its Art in the Park event on Sunday and you couldn’t have asked for better weather. Artist from around Bay County displayed paintings, sculptures, jewelry, t-shirts and other artistic makings. Humble House Ministries was one of the many booths in attendance. But officials said money isn’t the best thing someone could offer.

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Locally, kids were on the hunt in Bay County as they held their annual Easter Egg Hunt. Bay County held its annual Easter Egg Hunt this afternoon at Harder Park in Panama City. About 2,000 people showed up ready to hunt for easter eggs. Fields were divided into age groups to keep everyone safe and ensure each kid walked away with an egg and a smile. “It just warms my heart,” said Vincent Martin, the Parks Division Manager for Bay County.

Panama City Beach officials have taken action because of teenagers’ reckless nature. These last few weeks of spring break have been tough for Beach residents. However, law enforcement agencies around Bay County have found a method they believe has worked and will continue to implement it over the weekend. They say the new approach is working.

Florida edged out fellow No. 1 seed Houston in a nail-biter, 65-63, to win the 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship. The game drew fans from across the country, including a packed crowd at Beef ‘O’ Brady’s in Panama City Beach.

Earlier today, Panama City Beach officials implemented two special event zones, increased police presence, and closed three public parking lots to manage crowd sizes better. Those visiting to have fun have varying opinions about the initiatives. “It’s kind of interfering with a lot of stuff that’s going on,” one spring breaker mentioned.
