    HOLMES COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Holmes County residents, law enforcement, and emergency services are picking up the pieces after a tornado tore through the county on Saturday. {RELATED: Holmes County Sheriff speaks on widespread tornado damage}We are told the tornado damaged around 30 homes and businesses. Holmes County Sheriff John Tate said one person was injured but is recovering. The sheriff also added that at one point, 6,000 Holmes County residents were without power.

On Friday, BDS announced that girls’ flag football will officially be offered at four of their schools for the 2026 spring season. Arnold, Bozeman, Rutherford, and Mosley will participate. The district says that each team will have up to 30 spots for its female student-athletes.
