PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - To celebrate 100 years of business, Florida Power and Light is super-sizing its STEM Classroom Makeover Grant program. Company officials said they are expanding from 5 to 20 program grants for the 2024 - 2025 school year. Each school chosen will receive a $50,000 grant which will devote $1 million to benefit students across Florida.

The Bay County Tradition has seen changes over the years, but the robotic, remote controlled “tortoises” continue to speed to the finish line for the top spot. The 61st annual event kicks off Saturday, April 12 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church Community Life Center.
