It is time again to cheer on the contestants for the 61st Annual Gopher Turtle Race. The Bay County Tradition has seen changes over the years, but the robotic, remote controlled “tortoises” continue to speed to the finish line for the top spot. The 61st annual event kicks off Saturday, April 12 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church Community Life Center.

In order to raise funds for various youth programs in Bay County, just $7 a ticket gets you all the breakfast, coffee, and orange juice your heart desires. At Forest Park Church in Panama City, the 65th Pancake Days ran from 6-9 am on Thursday and Friday. Last chance to get some delicious pancakes and support the Kiwanis club is Saturday from 7-10 am.
