PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Gulf Coast Salute Air Show is attracting thousands to Panama City Beach. The show features military jet demos, including F-22s and the Thunderbirds. This is the first time in five years an air show has been held in the area. After Hurricane Michael, Tyndall Air Force Base suffered extensive damage. The base is now being rebuilt as a “base of the future” and construction is taking place.

Previous Supervisor of Elections Mark Andersen announced his retirement last month. Ward currently serves as the Deputy Supervisor of Elections for Bay County. Local teen competes in Miss America's Teen Competition

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Panama City Beach teen is making a splash on the national stage. Anna-Katherine Risalvato is competing for the Miss America’s Teen title in Orlando, which is part of the Miss America organization. Risalvato earned $6,000 in scholarships for winning the fitness and talent portions of the preliminary competition. She will compete in the Miss America’s Teen finals on Saturday at 7 p.m. Eastern. Crews are beginning to get a first look at the damage on Thomas Drive after a suspected tornado moved through. The pictures and video attached to this story are from the Pirates Cove Marina area. Significant storm damage reported on east end of Panama City Beach

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Storm reports are coming in from the suspected tornado that pushed through Bay County early Tuesday morning. We’re hearing reports of significant damage on the east end of Panama City Beach, including the Thomas Drive area. The intersection of Thomas Drive and North Lagoon Drive is blocked off as of 6:30 a.m. due to power lines down. As soon as it’s safe, our news crews will assess the damage. The threat of severe weather continues throughout Tuesday morning.

Move Over Law expansion - This is an extension of a law already in place in Florida, which requires drivers to safely move lanes when approaching law enforcement and emergency vehicles. PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - According to Panama City Beach Police, they received a call at approximately 7 a.m. on Wednesday from a man walking his dog, who reported finding the body lying in a cleared area on the edge of the woods west of the AMI store. The deceased was a white male. The investigation is ongoing, and foul play is not suspected. The remains have also been turned over to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
