Toronto police have arrested a man who is accused of stealing approximately $33,000 worth of booze from LCBO stores across Toronto and the GTA. According to investigators, the man would "select a quantity of alcohol and leave the store without making attempts to pay."Officers say the thefts happened between January 27 and April 4. On Sunday, police arrested 30-year-old Luis Alberto Alonzo Ramon. He's been charged with 53 counts of theft under $5,000 and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Police in Guelph are warning the public about an elaborate scam in which they say men, who identify themselves as employees who work for either Rogers or Bell, are showing up at people's homes to offer fraudulent services. The Guelph Police Service has received multiple reports from community members who say they received both a phone call from the alleged scammers and a visit to their home.

A Mississauga man faces multiple charges in connection with a months-long animal cruelty investigation. Peel Regional Police (PRP) say they responded to several incidents between December 2024 and March 2025 in which "juvenile dogs between 8-10 weeks old were discarded either deceased or badly mutilated and left for dead," in the Huron Park area, near Dundas Street and Mavis Road.

Ontario's financial services regulator is warning the public about a "concerning trend" of insurance agents who are completing hundreds of transactions without a valid licence. Officials say some insurers have self-reported these cases to the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) and corrective action has been taken.
