Laois manager Tommy Fitzgerald has made three charges to the team that dramatically beat Carlow to qualify for the Joe McDonagh Cup final. In come The Harps’ Cody Comerford, Fiachra C-Fennell (Rosenallis) and Mark Dowling (Camross). Donnchadh Hartnett and John Lennon lose out while Cha Dwyer is no longer part of the panel. The selected 15 for tomorrow’s final also shows two changes from the side that lost out badly to Kildare in the fourth round.

UNLIKE Laois’s pervious game, when Laois manager Jusin McNulty sprung a surprise when Mark Barry stared the game against Offaly in O’Connor Park, there were no major changes to team named to take on Westmeath in Mullingar tomorrow. While the 15 that started in the win over Offaly starts against Westmeath, there are a number of positional changes. The full back line remains the same.

A MIDLANDS derby awaits in the TG4 Leinster Intermediate final when Laois travel to TEG Cusack Park in Mullingar to take on Westmeath tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon (4pm). That was a sweet one for Westmeath, who lost out to Wexford in last year’s provincial decider.

Kilkenny and Wexford play in the senior final, with Carlow and Laois opposing each other in the intermediate final.

Preview – Tailteann Cup Rd 1 LAOIS will get their 2025 Tailteann Cup campaign up and running in Laois Hire O’Moore Park this afternoon at 3pm. The home side go into this game against Waterford as raging hot 1/20 favourites. This should come as no great surprise but favouritism brings its own pressure along with it. The sides have only three times in the past, all games in the national League. Last year Laois travelled to Fraher Field and trounced Waterford 5-19 to 0-9.
