Jerry Maloney (19) from Newbridge in Co Kildare tragically lost his life when the pick-up truck he was a passenger in crashed on the Barrettstown Road in Newbridge, Co Kildare shortly after 8pm on Thursday, June 5. Mr Maloney, who only recently married his wife Chloe, was taken to Naas General Hospital where he was later sadly pronounced dead. The male driver, also aged in his teens, was taken to Tallaght Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

Night-time resurfacing works will take place on Abbey Road in Ferrybank, Waterford, from Wednesday June 11 to Friday June 13. The works, from Fountain Street junction to Christendom junction, will commence at 8pm and finish at 6am daily over three consecutive nights.
