One person subsequently suffered injuries that are being described as “non-life threatening”. The M9 between Junction 6 and Junction 5 southbound was completely closed for a time with local diversions put in place. However, a single lane has since been opened to allow traffic to pass by.

    The robbery occurred in the early hours of Monday morning, April 21, at approximately 3am in Waterford City. The victim handed over the contents of his wallet after a male suspect held a knife to his throat while demanding money. Gardaí have confirmed that a sum of cash was taken from the victim, but no injuries were reported as a result of the robbery. No arrests have been made at this time, however, Gardaí say their investigations are still ongoing.

Visiting is now limited to one person per patient during the designated visiting times of between 2pm to 4pm and 6.30pm to 8.30pm for 30 minutes. There is no visiting on Moate and Liffey wards except for compassionate purposes. Any visiting outside of these times is for critical or compassionate purposes only and must be arranged in advance with the nurse in charge.
