NAPPANEE — Previously known as "Taste of Nappanee" and held at The Barns, Experience Nappanee is now the name of the event and will be held downtown after receiving approval from the Nappanee Board of Public Works Monday. The event was tabled at the April 14 meeting for more information and on Monday, Cami Mechling with Visit Nappanee was present.

ROME — Virginia Muñoz, parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Goshen and principal of St. John’s school, planned a trip to Rome for her daughter’s 15th birthday. They were also going to see the canonization of "the millennial saint," Blessed Carlo Acutis, and decided to make it a two-week trip to be there for Holy week and Easter, too. The fact that Pope Francis declared this year a Jubilee Year of Hope, made it special, too.

NAPPANEE — Nappanee residents and visitors will be able to purchase plants and flowers this spring and fall from Matt and Evie Tobias’ plant stand at 1156 E. Market St., with approval from the City Council Monday evening. Mayor Phil Jenkins said the Plan Commission already approved the outdoor plant stand to operate from May 1-Nov.1 at its meeting, but the council also had to approve it. The outdoor plant stand has operated on this empty lot between LJ Wagner’s and Mega Liquors for a few years now.
