Syracuse N.Y. — A slight. rain and cool temps greeted participants in the 47th annual Mountain Goat race in downtown Syracuse. The 10-mile run began on South Salina Street near Clinton Square and ended in the same place, snaking through the city’s southeast and southwest sides. The race traveled up and down the hills of Syracuse streets and parks such as Onondaga and Thornden as well as along the Syracuse University campus.

Syracuse N.Y. — After a stretch of rain and cold weather to start the month, this week’s warmer weather cued the annual Dolphy Day celebration at Le Moyne College. Revelers enjoyed full sun and 60’s by midday, just slightly warmer than usual this time of year. Thursday calls for even higher temps, with a forecast of 80 degrees. The Dolphy Day tradition began in 1971 and has become an unofficial school holiday. It’s completely student-driven. The origin of the name is still up for debate.

Syracuse, N.Y. — Hidden by partially gray clouds, the sun did rise. The Syracuse Sunrise Easter Mass continued as always. With temperatures hovering near 40 degrees, a few hundred people with heavy coats and blankets attended the annual tradition atop Burnet Park. Rev. Fred Daley of All Saints Catholic Church in Syracuse worked with St. Lucy’s to carry on the tradition. This was Daley’s third year after taking over for Rev.Jim Mathews of St. Lucy’s. Syracuse Fashion Week’s Spring 2025 kickoff event, was held at the Best Western Downtown Syracuse hotel (formerly the Jefferson Clinton) featuring new lines, emerging designers, and returning boutiques. Designers and makeup artist gathered at the hotel Thursday evening to present their art. Syracuse N.Y. – Nearly 2,500 runners finished the 12th edition of the Syracuse Half Marathon Sunday in downtown Syracuse. The 13.1-mile race started just before 8 a.m. near the OnCenter, on South State Street. Compared to last year when Syracuse city crews worked to clear the streets of the route after a snow storm the streets were clear of snow and ice. The temperature at start time was 21 degrees compared to last years temps when it was 16 with with lots of sun.
