    The father and daughter who died hiking Maine's tallest mountain this week were residents of the Bruderhofs, a Christian community that has a home in the Hudson Valley, according to the religious organization's social media posts. The bodies of Tim Keiderling, 58, and Esther Keiderling, 28, who went missing in Baxter State Park in Maine and were subsequently found deceased, were residents of the Maple Ridge Bruderhof Community in Ulster Park.

    Calling hours will be held Saturday for Robert Bornt, the Hoosick Falls fire chief and state Transportation Department supervisor who died when a motorist struck him in a work zone on Route 7 in Pittstown. In addition to his highway maintenance supervisor job and work as fire chief, Bornt, 54, served as a member of the Hoosick Rescue Squad and CSEA regional union president. He coached softball and enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling, according to his obituary.
