    Marcus Jones-Snyder was originally charged with second-degree murder and three weapons counts for the June 2024 shooting death of Zachary Vanhorn, of Elmira. In February, Jones-Snyder pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in exchange for a determinate 20-year sentence in state prison. Chemung County Court Judge Ottavio Campanella imposed that sentence on Jones-Snyder on May 9 after hearing from the victim's mother and sister.
