The Lubbock area experienced a weather scare on the evenings of Wednesday and Thursday, June 5 and 6, in the form of tornados. On Sunday, June 8, the Texas Tech football team landed a large Tornado. Jacob Crow, a 6-foot-8, 300-pound offensive lineman from Alcoa, Tennessee, committed to the Red Raiders. The Alcoa Tornadoes went 13-1 this past season, winning a Class 3A state championship. Crow announced his pledge on social media.
