The operation got underway at around 6am when the large garda deployment stormed a house in the centre of the sleeping village. Armed RSU members were tasked with conducting the entry into the premises and they were swiftly followed by detectives from the Tralee and Listowel branches; Divisional Drug Unit officers and uniformed gardaí from Tralee and Listowel also. It led to a dramatic early-morning scene for villagers as the police swooped on the address.

The incident occured in Tarbert in North KerryAn elderly woman was hospitalised following a suspected arson attack in Tarbert, Co Kerry, in which the house in which she was living and three cars were set on fire. She is understood to have been without obvious injury but was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure after gardaí and paramedics arrived at the scene following the alarm. Two others who were also in the house with the elderly woman at the time escaped unhurt from the blaze.
