The Granger Police Department and the city have settled a civil lawsuit with a woman who said she was forced by a police officer into a sexual relationship. The city and the police department will pay the woman $700,000 to settle her suit, said Bill Pickett, the woman’s attorney. The payment settles all claims, including those against former Granger police Officer Glen Trejo. The woman is happy the case is over and she can begin the healing process, Pickett said.

May 30-While there will be no criminal charges in the May 4 crash on River Road that resulted in two deaths, Yakima police continue to investigate. YPD Lt. Ira Cavin said investigators are hoping to find the cause of the crash to help the families of those involved, as well as possibly prevent future crashes through public education.
