May 13-Larry Riegel's family knew something was wrong when he missed their Dec. 26 dinner in 2009. He always attended those holiday meals, said his sister, Susan Riegel Vaughn. Not only did he prioritize family meals at their mother's house in Yakima, Riegel would bring food. "He was a great cook. He made the best peach pie," Vaughn said. Christmas 2009 was the last day anyone in Riegel's family spoke with or saw him.

The Yakima Training Center and U.S. Army Environmental Command held the session at the Selah Civic Center to update residents on the Army's response to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, also known as PFAS, in the groundwater.
