Dave Mustaine talks with Shawn Ryan....not with the music community, but rather a former Navy SEAL and C.I.A. contractor. An interesting choice. Ryan is clearly a fan (which is cool to see). Ryan asked Dave about his martial arts experience (Dave is a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo). Dave said he got into it back when he was 12 years old and started playing guitar at 14.

The military ship under water. .3d renderGetty ImagesMemorial Weekend is the unofficial kickoff to summer. Memorial Day is an important day of remembrance for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms: our military loved ones we have lost. Some of the greatest '80s military movies saw a true breakthrough in showing what soldiers went through, particularly in Vietnam. Other miliary movies gave us laughs and provided a lighter look at the military lifestyle.

Who’s ready to check out some movies? Getty ImagesSince in the '80s, it seemed like every action film featured a scene where the lead character is walking away (usually with sunglasses on) as a huge explosion goes off behind them. They never get knocked over by the blast and they never look back. This is an example of things in movies that make zero sense. In particular, how can you never look back? Not worried any debris is flying at you? Nothing to see there?

Not just the greatest title tracks of '80s rock, but great albums... that was part of the artistry of truly great albums in the '80s. With the influx of iTunes YouTube, the generations of today are exposed to new music in a much more concise and short-burst fashion. Listening to an entire album... reflecting on the album cover artwork and really immersing yourself in the complete experience of the music and lyrics doesn't happen as often as it used to.

We didn't have NONE of this when I was a kid. In one word: spectacular. Bounce America is bringing the World's Biggest Bounce House to the Detroit area as part of their tour. It's amazing that they can even travel with a 24,000 square foot bounce house, but these people are pros. Tickets are purchased ahead of time for three-hour blocks. Non-participating adult caregivers do not have to pay admission.
