GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- The Green Bay women's basketball team needed to reload its roster after losing seven players to graduation from this past season, and the Phoenix has done that, bringing in six newcomers via the transfer portal, including five who played high school basketball in Northeast Wisconsin, and two high school recruits. The local transfer portal additions started with Carley Duffney from Green Bay Preble and Notre Dame's Gracie Grzesk committing first.

LUXEMBURG (WLUK) -- Fox Valley Lutheran remained perfect on the season as it swept a key doubleheader from Luxemburg-Casco on Tuesday. The Foxes are 12-0, leading the North Eastern Conference, and FVL is doing it without a star as many players are contributing to the success.

GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Manitowoc knows every time it steps on a baseball diamond it has a target on its back, and that comes with being a Fox River Classic Conference title contender. A good way to combat that is set the tone early and that's what the Ships did Monday at Notre Dame. Manitowoc's first six batters reached base, which included a three-run home run from Vance Schroeder, scored four runs in the first inning and then hung on for an 8-5 win to remain in first place in the FRCC.

SUAMICO (WLUK) -- Bay Port's Melia Lemorande tore her ACL in her left knee before her sophomore season, but this past year she had a breakout year, averaging 18 points per game. Her success has led to scholarship offers and now her college future is secure. Earlier this week Lemorande announced her commitment to play college basketball at Division II Maryville University in St. Louis, and by listening to her it was an easy decision.

GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- The top spot in the Fox River Classic Conference softball standings was on the line Tuesday when perennial league title contenders Green Bay Preble and Ashwaubenon met in what was expected to be a pitchers' duel between two aces going to Division I universities next season. Ashwaubenon's Berritt Herr is headed to Wisconsin and entering Tuesday the Jaguars had allowed just five runs in 10 games.
